In one incident a member of the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team fell 40ft whilst out on a training exercise at Upperwood quarry near to the A635, Holmfirth Road.

The helicopter had to land on the ridge of the hill, about 30 meters higher up. Members of the team and other emergency services stretchered their injured colleague to the helicopter.

His condition is not life threatening and he is now recovering in hospital. More information on this can be found on the Oldham MRT Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/OldhamMRT

In another incident at around 12.00pm a 15-year-old female walker slipped and sustained lower leg injuries near to the Saddleworth triangulation pillar above Runninghill between Diggle and Marsden, at a height of about 430 metres.

The helicopter landed on the A62, Huddersfield Road, near to the Carriage House pub.
